关于地图
Marka Map Poster & Print
Marka lies on the southern coast of Somalia, south of Mogadishu. On a map the town is a small, dense cluster of buildings against the shoreline, with a long straight coast stretching away in both directions. Just inland, sand dunes separate the sea from the farmland of the Shabeelle valley.
It is one of the historic ports of the Benadir coast, a region where Indian Ocean trade linked Somalia with Arabia, Persia and India for centuries. The old quarter has narrow lanes and stone houses close to the water. Marka is the administrative centre of the Lower Shabeelle region.
A Marka map poster shows how simple this coastal composition is. The sea takes up one half of the image, the old town sits compactly on the shore, and roads lead off towards the interior. The result is quiet and spacious, shaped mostly by the coastline.

Straight Indian Ocean coast
The coastline runs in a long, clean line past the town. It gives the print a strong horizon and a lot of open space.
Dune belt
Sand dunes rise between the coast and the farmland further inland. They leave only a few roads crossing towards the Shabeelle valley.

为什么选Marka
一张有意义的地图
For members of the Somali diaspora with ties to Marka or the Benadir coast, a map of the town is a quiet way to keep home in view. The shoreline and old quarter make an elegant, understated print.
Personalise the title and subtitle, for example with the Somali name Marka or a family date, and keep or edit the coordinates line. Then choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
