Compound pattern
Family compounds and courtyards create a dense, cellular texture across the town, very different from the block structure of planned settlements.

关于地图
Matamey Map Poster & Print
Matamey lies in the Zinder Region of southern Niger, close to the border with Nigeria. The surrounding landscape is Sahelian: open, largely flat country with seasonal farming, grazing land and scattered trees. Settlements here are often compact, with roads leading out across the plain toward neighbouring towns and markets.
On the map, Matamey appears as a cluster of compounds and lanes rather than a formal grid. Walled family compounds create an irregular, cellular texture, and sandy streets wind between them. Main roads leave the town in a few directions, drawing straight lines across the otherwise open surroundings.
A Matamey map poster records a type of place that rarely appears on printed maps, a Sahelian town shaped by local building traditions and by its position near a busy border region. The composition is spare and quiet, with the settlement standing clearly in a wide, pale landscape.

Roads across the plain
A few main roads leave the town and run across open country, connecting Matamey to other towns in the Zinder Region and toward the border.
Open Sahel landscape
Around the town the map falls almost silent, a wide empty field that suggests the flat, open country of southern Niger.
