Town around the rail
Streets form a tight cluster along the railway and main road, the densest part of the map and the natural focus of the composition.

关于地图
Matsubase Map Poster & Print
Matsubase is a former town now part of the city of Uki in Kumamoto Prefecture, on the western side of Kyushu. On the map, it is a compact grid of streets gathered around the railway and main road, set in a wide lowland of rectangular rice paddies that extends toward the coast.
The terrain is gentle, rising into low hills inland and flattening toward the sea, so a Matsubase map poster has a calm, layered look: hills on one side, a cluster of streets in the middle and the regular pattern of fields opening out toward the water.
Matsubase merged with neighbouring towns in 2005 to form Uki. The nearby Yatsushiro Sea, also called the Shiranui Sea, is known in Japanese folklore for the shiranui, mysterious lights once reported offshore on certain summer nights.

Paddy field grid
Around the town, straight farm roads and field boundaries create a fine, regular pattern that fills the lowland with quiet geometry.
Toward the coast
Farmland stretches out to the shallow coastal waters, giving the print a clear sense of direction from the hills to the sea.

为什么选Matsubase
一张有意义的地图
For people from Matsubase or elsewhere in Uki, the map shows home without grand landmarks: a railway town, its fields and the sea beyond. It is a subtle piece for a quiet room.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be personalised, and you can choose among Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand to match the setting where it will hang.
