Scattered homesteads
Homes and compounds are spread across the land rather than grouped into a tight centre, giving the map an open, dispersed pattern.

关于地图
Mtinko Map Poster & Print
Mtinko is a rural area in the Singida Region of central Tanzania, on the high, dry plateau in the centre of the country. On the map, it does not look like a dense town. Homesteads are scattered across the land, linked by dirt roads and a network of footpaths, with fields and patches of bush between them.
The central plateau is a region of wide horizons, seasonal rains and farming adapted to a long dry season. Tracks lead from Mtinko towards Singida town and neighbouring villages. Low ridges and seasonal streams add variety to the landscape. The lines on the map are few and light, which gives the area a sense of openness.
The Mtinko map poster is a sparse, quiet composition: a scatter of tracks and settlements over open ground, with no single centre dominating. It suits a minimal interior and carries real personal meaning for people from the area, for those who have worked or volunteered there, and for anyone who knows the landscape of central Tanzania.

Open plateau

一张有意义的地图
