关于地图
Nishishinminato Map Poster & Print
Nishishinminato lies in Imizu, on the coast of Toyama Bay, on the western side of the Shinminato port area. The map is a mix of fine-grained Japanese residential streets and large, geometric port facilities. Harbour basins, piers and quays cut deep into the land, and the town's narrow streets fill the spaces between them.
The Shinminato district is known for its old canal lined with fishing boats and for its fishing culture, and the large Shinminato Bridge spans the harbour entrance. On a clear day the Tateyama mountain range can be seen across the bay. None of that shows on a plan, but the mix of water and streets carries the same sense of a working coast.
A Nishishinminato map poster is full of contrast: angular port basins against dense small blocks, and a straight shoreline against the canals. It is an unusual and handsome composition, and it reflects the long relationship between this part of Toyama and the sea.

Dense Japanese streets
Residential areas are made up of small, tightly packed blocks and narrow lanes, forming a fine texture between the port facilities.
Toyama Bay coast
The long bay shoreline runs along the edge of the map, giving the composition a clean horizon of open water.

为什么选Nishishinminato
一张有意义的地图
The map makes sense for people who grew up in Imizu, who worked in the port or who visited Toyama's coast for its seafood and its views of the mountains. The meeting of harbour and town is striking even for those who have never been.
Add a title, a subtitle and a coordinates line, in your own words, and choose Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 digital files cover six sizes, and printed posters are available with an optional wooden frame.
