关于地图
Nowa Ruda Map Poster & Print
Nowa Ruda lies in the Kłodzko region of Lower Silesia, close to the Owl Mountains, and its plan is shaped by the terrain. The town runs along a narrow river valley, with streets climbing the slopes on either side and forested hills pressing in around the edges.
At the centre is an old market square with the tight blocks of a Silesian town around it, from which lanes branch up and down the valley. For generations Nowa Ruda was a coal-mining town, and its outskirts still show the traces of pits and industry. Before 1945 it was the German town of Neurode.
A Nowa Ruda map poster shows how a historic town fitted itself into hilly country. In monochrome, the market square forms a clear rectangle, the river valley gives a strong axis, and the winding roads on the hillsides add movement. It is a compact, textured map of the Sudetes.

Valley layout
Streets follow the course of the valley and climb its slopes, so the town stretches in a long, irregular shape between the hills.
Wooded hills
Forested uplands surround Nowa Ruda on several sides, leaving open areas on the map where the road network gives way to slopes.
