Colonial grid core
Square blocks arranged around the main plaza form a tidy chessboard at the centre of the poster, the original Spanish layout that still organises the town.

关于地图
Ocaña Map Poster & Print
Ocaña lies in the eastern Andes of Norte de Santander, in a high valley surrounded by mountains. Founded by the Spanish in the sixteenth century, it kept the classic colonial plan of square blocks around a central plaza, and that grid still forms the heart of the map. Farther out, newer neighbourhoods follow the terrain more loosely, bending around ridges and ravines.
The town holds a place in Colombian history as the seat of the Convention of Ocaña in 1828, a gathering that tried and failed to agree on a new constitution for Gran Colombia. The historic centre around the main square keeps much of its colonial character, and the convention is still remembered as a turning point in the young republic.
An Ocaña map poster shows the tension between order and landscape. The regular blocks of the centre give a clear, legible core, while the outer streets twist to fit the slopes. In print, that shift from grid to organic pattern tells the story of a colonial town growing into the mountains around it.

Hillside neighbourhoods
Beyond the grid, newer barrios wrap around slopes and gullies, their curving streets and dead ends creating a looser, more organic texture.
Mountain basin setting
Ocaña sits in a valley enclosed by the Andes, so development stops where the ground rises steeply, leaving the edges of the map open and uneven.

为什么选Ocaña
一张有意义的地图
People from Ocaña who have moved to Cúcuta, Bogotá or abroad often keep a strong attachment to the town's history and its plaza. A map poster puts that attachment on a wall in a form that is both personal and restrained.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line are editable, so you can add a family name, a wedding date or the year you left. Pick from five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, and order the $9 digital files or a framed print.
