Ongallur-I Map Poster & Print
Ongallur-I is a census town in Palakkad district, Kerala, near Pattambi, in the valley of the Bharathapuzha, one of the state's longest rivers. On a map it looks very different from a compact town. Houses are spread along roads and lanes, surrounded by trees and fields, in the dispersed pattern typical of settlements across much of Kerala.
The roads wind gently rather than forming a grid, linking clusters of homes, temples, mosques and schools. Low-lying fields, often used for rice, appear as open patches between the built strips. The '-I' in the name reflects the administrative division of a larger area into separate census units.
