Panelas Map Poster & Print
Panelas lies in the agreste of Pernambuco, the transitional belt between the humid coastal zone and the dry sertão further inland. The country is rolling and cut by small valleys. On a map the town fits itself to this terrain, with streets that curve around rises and gather along the lower ground, not laid out on one even pattern.
At its centre the blocks are small and closely built. They cluster around the older streets, where the town's commercial and civic life has traditionally been concentrated. Further out, the roads thin into routes that run across farmland and toward neighbouring municipalities, following the contours of the land wherever it allows.
A Panelas map poster captures a type of place that is common in the Brazilian interior but rarely drawn for its own sake: a modest town shaped by hills, farming and the roads that connect it to the region. The result is an organic, slightly irregular composition that feels very different from a planned city grid.
