The Vaigai crossing
The river runs diagonally through the town as a broad sandy channel. Bridges link the two banks, and the older streets gather near the water.

关于地图
Paramagudi Map Poster & Print
Paramagudi lies on the Vaigai River in Ramanathapuram district. For much of the year the riverbed is wide and sandy, and on a map it cuts a clear diagonal through the town. The older settlement is a tight mesh of narrow streets and lanes. Around it, newer areas and roads fan out across the flat, largely agricultural plain.
The town is known for handloom weaving, and textiles have long been at the centre of its economy and identity. It is also known as the hometown of the actor and filmmaker Kamal Haasan. Tanks and irrigation ponds dot the surrounding district, typical of this dry part of Tamil Nadu, and appear on the map as small irregular shapes among the fields.
A Paramagudi map poster brings these elements together: the sweep of the Vaigai, the close grain of the old streets, the rail line and highways, and the scattered water bodies beyond. It is a modest, detailed composition that rewards a closer look.

Weavers' lanes
The historic core is a fine network of narrow streets. This is the urban fabric of a town whose handloom tradition is known well beyond the district.
Tanks and fields
Irregular irrigation tanks and field patterns surround the town. They show how water has been stored and shared on this dry southern plain.
