Harbour and breakwaters
Long moles and quays extend into the Gulf of Asinara. They form the strongest lines on the map and reflect the town's role as a ferry port.

关于地图
Porto Torres Map Poster & Print
Porto Torres faces the Gulf of Asinara on the northwest coast of Sardinia. From above, the harbour dominates the waterfront, with breakwaters, quays and ferry berths extending into the sea in long straight lines. The town rises behind it on gently sloping ground, and the coastline to either side runs as a mix of low cliffs and small beaches.
This was the Roman colony of Turris Libisonis, and its remains still mark the town. The Romanesque Basilica of San Gavino, one of the largest in Sardinia, stands on a rise inland from the port. Near the town, a Roman bridge still crosses the Rio Mannu. The port has regular ferry connections to mainland Italy and France.
A Porto Torres map poster brings together two thousand years in one frame. The harbour's hard modern geometry contrasts with the older street pattern around the basilica, and the Rio Mannu reaches the coast nearby. In monochrome, the gulf becomes a wide, calm field. The whole composition leans toward the sea.

Basilica of San Gavino
This large Romanesque church stands inland from the harbour, the historic centre of the town and one of Sardinia's most important medieval buildings.
Rio Mannu and Roman bridge
The river reaches the sea next to the town, and an ancient Roman bridge still crosses it. The two together are a clear reminder of the site's long history.

为什么选Porto Torres
一张有意义的地图
Many people first see Sardinia from the Porto Torres ferry deck, and some never forget the arrival. For them, and for those who grew up here, the harbour outline on the wall is a strong memory prompt.
Put an arrival date or a family name in the title or subtitle, and adjust the coordinates. Blueprint works well with the gulf, and Sand gives a Mediterranean warmth. Choose the HD files for $9 or a printed poster, framed or unframed.
