关于地图
São José Map Poster & Print
São José lies on the mainland side of the bay that separates Santa Catarina Island from the continent, across the water from Florianópolis. The two cities form a continuous urban area, and on a map São José appears as a long band of streets following the shoreline, then spreading inland across lower ground toward the hills to the west.
Founded in 1750 by settlers from the Azores, São José is one of the oldest towns in Santa Catarina. Its historic centre sits right on the bay, with a church square and a small cluster of old streets that stand out from the larger, more regular blocks built later around them.
The BR-101 highway runs north to south through the city, a strong line separating the older coastal districts from newer neighbourhoods further inland. A São José map poster shows how the town has grown along the water and the highway, with the bay on its eastern edge and, in a wider frame, the bridges to the island.

Bay shoreline
Calm, sheltered water along the eastern side forms a smooth edge to the city, with the shores of Santa Catarina Island lying just across the bay.

为什么选São José
一张有意义的地图
Many people who know Florianópolis actually live in São José, and this map gives the mainland city an image of its own. The long shoreline and highway create a clear, directional composition that suits tall portrait formats such as 50×70 cm.
