Benin River
The broad river curves along the edge of town. It gives the poster a strong, flowing line and a natural boundary to the street network.

关于地图
Sapele Map Poster & Print
Sapele lies in Delta State, Nigeria, on the Benin River near where it meets the Ethiope River. The town developed as a river port and trading centre during the colonial era, and water still defines its outline. From above, the streets stop at riverbanks and creeks, and much of the land around them is low, green and cut by channels.
Sapele gave its name to the sapele tree, an African hardwood long exported worldwide for furniture and veneer. For decades the town was home to one of West Africa's largest timber and plywood operations. Industrial sites, a waterfront and older trading streets sit close together near the river.
Beyond the centre, residential districts spread along the main roads toward Warri and Benin City. A Sapele map poster shows how the rivers shape the town, with streets reaching toward the water and the creeks of the Delta beyond.

Timber waterfront
Industrial sites near the river, some still working and some closed, recall the timber trade that made Sapele known. They appear as large blocks with long, straight internal roads.
Delta creeks
Narrow creeks and wetland channels branch through the landscape around the town. Their fine lines contrast with the denser streets.
