关于地图
Seodong Map Poster & Print
Seodong lies within the Jeju City area on the northern coast of Jeju Island, South Korea's volcanic island. From above, the geography is simple. There is sea to the north, and to the south the land rises steadily toward Hallasan, the dormant volcano at the centre of the island. The streets fill the lower slopes in a dense but irregular pattern.
Jeju's volcanic origin shows even on a street map. Small streams run straight downhill toward the sea, dividing neighbourhoods, and the terrain rises in long, even slopes rather than sharp hills. Low stone walls made from basalt traditionally divided fields across the island, although at street level in the city they are mostly hidden by buildings.
A Seodong map poster presents the working side of Jeju. It shows residential lanes and shopping streets close to the coastline, the airport and harbour of Jeju City nearby, and the steady upward pull of the mountain. In monochrome the coast makes a clean northern edge, and the grid gradually gives way to open slopes.

Slopes toward Hallasan
The land climbs gently south toward the island's central volcano. Roads run uphill in long lines, and the urban grid thins as it rises.
Stream valleys
Short streams flow straight down to the sea through the city. They cut narrow green channels between neighbourhoods and are easy to see on the print.
