Baikal shoreline
The northern shore of Lake Baikal forms one whole side of the map. Its broad, gently curving line is the most memorable shape in the composition.

关于地图
Severobaykal’sk Map Poster & Print
Severobaykal’sk stands near the northern end of Lake Baikal, the deepest lake in the world, in the Republic of Buryatia. It was founded in the 1970s as a base for building the Baikal–Amur Mainline, the railway known as the BAM. The town still has the clear, planned layout of a Soviet-era project settlement.
From above, the grid of residential blocks sits between the lake shore and forested mountains. The railway runs along the edge of town, and the shoreline of Baikal forms a long, natural boundary. Past the town, the map is almost empty, with taiga, mountain ridges and a few roads and tracks.
A Severobaykal’sk map poster sets the regular blocks of a planned town against one of the most striking natural edges in Russia. The lake's large, calm surface fills a big part of the frame, and the neat town grid and the curving line of the railway give it a strong graphic structure.

BAM railway
The Baikal–Amur Mainline passes the town. The railway and its station area are the reason the settlement exists and a clear line on the print.
Planned blocks
The residential districts are laid out in orderly blocks typical of the late Soviet period. They contrast with the wild land all around.
