Sumedang Map Poster & Print
Sumedang lies in the hills of West Java, east of Bandung, on land that rises towards the volcanic cone of Mount Tampomas. The town was once the seat of the Sumedang Larang kingdom, and its centre still holds the regency's historic core. On a map, the street plan thickens around this centre and then loosens along the roads that climb out into the hills.
One of those roads has a particular story. The Cadas Pangeran pass, cut through rock in the early nineteenth century as part of the Great Post Road across Java, winds along the slopes near the town. Sumedang is also known across Indonesia for its tofu, sold at stalls throughout the region.
A Sumedang map poster shows a town shaped by terrain rather than by a plan. Winding roads, terraced fields and scattered villages fill the frame, and to the northeast the Jatigede Reservoir adds a large body of water. In monochrome, the result feels layered and quietly detailed.
