关于地图
Susanville Map Poster & Print
Susanville is the county seat of Lassen County in northeastern California. It sits where the forested edge of the Sierra Nevada and the southern Cascades drops into the Great Basin. From above, the pattern is clear. A compact downtown grid lies along the Susan River, the town climbs into the pines to the west, and it opens eastward toward the flat, dry expanse around Honey Lake.
The town and the river are named after Susan Roop, daughter of the early settler Isaac Roop. The old railway grade west of town is now the Bizz Johnson Trail, a rail trail that follows the Susan River canyon into the forest. The state prisons nearby are major employers and a well-known part of local life.
A Susanville map poster shows the contrast that defines the place: tight town blocks against open country, with the curving line of the river running between them. On one edge the drawing is forest and mountain, on the other basin and desert. Few towns of this size have such a clear setting.

Bizz Johnson Trail
The former rail line leaves town as a long walking and cycling trail. It traces a gentle curve westward through the canyon.
Toward Honey Lake
East of the grid, streets end and the land flattens into the Honey Lake basin, a wide, open space that gives the print its sense of scale.
