The gulf shoreline
The town faces the Gulf of Tadjoura, and the coastline forms a crisp edge across the map. The large expanse of water gives the poster a strong, uncluttered base.

关于地图
Tadjoura Map Poster & Print
Tadjoura lies on the northern shore of the Gulf of Tadjoura, across the water from Djibouti City, the capital. It is one of the oldest towns in the country and has long been the seat of the Afar Sultanate of Tadjourah. On a map, it is a compact settlement pressed along the coast, with the gulf in front and dry mountains rising behind.
The town's streets form a dense, fairly regular pattern of low blocks just inland from the shoreline, and the coastal road extends away along the water in both directions. Tadjoura is known for its whitewashed buildings and many mosques. Its small port connects it to the rest of the gulf by sea.
A Tadjoura map poster is almost entirely about the meeting of land and water. The clean line of the coast, the tight block of the town and the empty ground around it give the print a stark, strong composition. It is a fitting way to remember a place whose history has always been tied to the sea routes of the Horn of Africa.

Compact old town
Low buildings and narrow streets are packed closely together just behind the shore. From above, they form a dense cluster that contrasts with the open land around them.
Coastal road
A road follows the shoreline away from town, connecting it to other parts of the country. On the poster, it traces a single long line between the mountains and the sea.

For people from Tadjoura or anyone who has worked or travelled in Djibouti, this map shows a town defined by its coast and its long history. The minimal geography, water, town and desert makes for a particularly bold print.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be personalised, with the town's name in French or Afar spelling, or a date to remember. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
