Telfs Map Poster & Print
Telfs lies in the Inn valley in Tyrol, west of Innsbruck. The town spreads across a wide, sloping area on the north side of the valley, rising from the river towards the foot of the mountains. Above it stands the Hohe Munde, whose steep face dominates the view from the town.
On a map, the Inn runs along the valley floor with the motorway and railway parallel to it, while the town's streets climb northwards in irregular patterns. Roads zigzag up towards the Mieming plateau above, which forms a separate landscape of meadows and villages.
A Telfs map poster shows the typical structure of an Alpine market town. The town is also known for the Schleicherlaufen, a carnival tradition held every few years and listed as intangible cultural heritage. The map itself is about valley, slope and mountain.
