关于地图
Thimiri Map Poster & Print
Thimiri is a town in northern Tamil Nadu, not far from Arcot and the Palar river basin. Like many towns in this part of the state, it has a compact centre of close streets, with farmland and irrigation tanks all around. The map shows a dense core set among a patchwork of fields.
The tanks, which are rain-fed reservoirs used for irrigation, are among the most distinctive features of a Tamil Nadu map. Around Thimiri they appear as irregular pale shapes of different sizes, joined by channels and field boundaries. Roads leave the town toward neighbouring towns and villages, giving the poster a clear framework.
A Thimiri map poster is made for people from the town and nearby villages, including those who now live in Chennai, Vellore or overseas. It shows home plainly, as a place of streets, water and fields, with no landmarks added.
