Tirur River
The river curves through the low country around the town toward the Arabian Sea coast, adding a soft, winding line to an otherwise dense road network.

关于地图
Tirur Map Poster & Print
Tirur lies in Malappuram district in northern Kerala, a few kilometres inland from the Arabian Sea. From above, the town has the loose, green texture typical of the Malabar coast: roads branch in many directions, houses sit among coconut palms, and the built-up area blends into surrounding settlements rather than ending at a clear edge. The Tirur River winds nearby on its way toward the coast.
The town is closely associated with Thunchath Ezhuthachan, regarded as the father of modern Malayalam, whose birthplace at Thunchan Parambu is nearby. Tirur is also known for its betel leaf, which carries a geographical indication. The railway line along the coast passes through the town and forms one of the few straight lines on its map.
A Tirur map poster shows a town that feels more like a dense network than a single centre. In black and white the branching roads, the river and the railway overlap into a delicate pattern, and the nearness of the sea adds a sense of direction to the composition.

Coastal railway
The main line along the Kerala coast passes straight through Tirur, one of the few firm, direct strokes in a landscape of branching roads.
Branching roads
Streets fan out through palm-covered land in irregular lines, so the town fades gradually into neighbouring villages rather than stopping at a clear boundary.

为什么选Tirur
一张有意义的地图
Tirur means a great deal to people from Malabar and to readers of Malayalam literature. A map of the town is a gentle way to keep that connection visible, with its river and railway giving the poster a clear framework.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line to mark a family name or a date, then choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Files download for $9, and printed posters ship from partners in 30+ countries.
