Tonj River
The river winds past the town across the plain, and its loops and side channels bring the only curves into an otherwise open landscape.

关于地图
Tonj Map Poster & Print
Tonj lies in Warrap State in the northwest of South Sudan, on the river that shares its name. The land here is very flat, part of the wide plains that drain toward the Sudd wetlands. In the rainy season, the river and its side channels spread across the lowlands around the town.
From above, the town is a loose cluster of compounds and roads near the riverbank, with a market area and a few main streets forming the densest part. Beyond that, homesteads and cattle camps are scattered across the grassland, and the map quickly becomes a pattern of tracks, waterways and open space.
Tonj is in a region where cattle-herding communities have lived for generations, and life follows the rhythm of the wet and dry seasons. A Tonj map poster keeps things simple and truthful. It shows the river, the roads leading out across the plain and the town gathered where they meet.

Town core
Near the river, streets and compounds come together in the densest part of Tonj, clearly set apart from the open land around it.
Seasonal plains
Flat grassland surrounds the town and partly floods during the rains, leaving wide blank space on the poster beyond the tracks.

为什么选Tonj
一张有意义的地图
For South Sudanese families at home or abroad, and for aid workers or teachers who spent time in Warrap, a map of Tonj is a way to hold on to a real place. The design is sparse and honest.
Personalise the title and subtitle with a name, a year or a short message, and adjust the coordinates line. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand captures the dry-season plains well.
