Slottsfjellet
The castle hill rises right above the town centre. Its ruins and green slopes form a clear, open space in the middle of the tightly built streets.

关于地图
Tønsberg Map Poster & Print
Tønsberg sits at the head of the Oslofjord's western side, where land and water are closely mixed. The town centre is gathered around Slottsfjellet, a steep hill that once held a medieval fortress. To the south, the Kanalen channel cuts between the mainland and the islands of Nøtterøy and Tjøme, and bridges link the pieces together. The coastline twists into bays and inlets on almost every side.
Tønsberg is often called Norway's oldest town, with a history going back to the Viking Age. The famous Oseberg ship, a richly decorated Viking burial ship, was found on a farm nearby and is now one of the best-known archaeological finds in Scandinavia. Today, the harbour front along the canal is lined with restaurants and boats, especially in summer.
A Tønsberg map poster shows a place where water shapes every outline. The canal, the fjord and the many small islands create a complex, detailed coastline, with the grid of the old town packed around the castle hill. It is a map full of edges and bridges, and it looks especially good in a clean, minimal style.

Kanalen
This narrow channel runs past the harbour and separates the mainland from Nøtterøy. On the map it is a thin line of water with bridges across it.
Fjord islands
South of the centre, islands and inlets spread out into the fjord. Their irregular shapes make the coastline the most detailed part of the poster.
