Hilltop old town
The historic centre occupies raised ground above the plain. Its narrow, irregular streets form the densest part of the map and draw the eye to the middle of the composition.

关于地图
Valenza Map Poster & Print
Valenza stands on a rise above the southern bank of the Po, in the province of Alessandria. On a map, its historic centre is a compact knot of narrow streets on high ground. It is partly outlined by the angular shapes left by old fortifications. Beyond that core, newer districts spread down the slopes and out toward the plain.
The Po runs to the north, a broad, loose line through flat farmland. It gives the composition a strong natural edge. Valenza is internationally known as a centre of goldsmithing and jewellery making. Many workshops and firms are spread across the town, although on the map that craft appears only as a fine, dense urban texture.
A Valenza map poster sets a tight historic hilltop against the openness of the river plain. The contrast between the old town and the level fields below gives the town its character from above. It is a composition with a clear focus and plenty of breathing space.

Fortification outline
Angular lines around the old core recall the town's former defensive works. In black and white, these geometric edges give the plan a distinctive shape.
The River Po
Italy's longest river passes to the north of the town. Its wide course and the flat land around it form a calm, open edge on the poster.

为什么选Valenza
一张有意义的地图
Valenza's name is closely linked to fine jewellery, and many people have trained or worked in its workshops. A map of the town suits them well, as it does anyone with roots in this part of Piedmont.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Printed posters ship from partners in more than 30 countries, and the $9 digital files include six print sizes.
