Vynohradiv Map Poster & Print
Vynohradiv is in Zakarpattia, in the far west of Ukraine, close to the borders with both Hungary and Romania. Its name refers to vineyards, and it was historically known in Hungarian as Nagyszőlős. From above, the town spreads across a plain near the Tisza, with a compact centre and residential streets reaching out into farmland.
The most distinctive landmark is Chorna Hora, the Black Mountain, a volcanic hill rising just outside the town. Its slopes have long been used for vineyards. Near the centre stand the ruins of the medieval Kankiv castle, a reminder of the town's long history on the edge of several kingdoms.
A Vynohradiv map poster places a borderland town against its setting: the curving river lowlands, the round rise of the hill and the roads toward neighbouring countries. In black and white, the centre forms a dense core, and the surrounding plain and slopes fade into lighter, open space.

The remains of a medieval castle stand near the centre. They are one of the town's oldest landmarks and anchor the historic core on the map.
