Forest edge
The town's streets end abruptly where the forest begins. On the poster this makes a clear boundary between the drawn street pattern and the open space around it.

关于地图
Wamba Map Poster & Print
From above, Wamba shows up as an open patch in a wide belt of tropical forest in north-eastern DR Congo. Its streets form a loose, low network that thins out quickly at the edges. Beyond them, the green closes in again. On a map this reads as a small settled island, set against the long, unbroken lines of the surrounding woodland and waterways.
Wamba sits in Haut-Uele province. The town is a local centre for the villages around it and is the seat of a Catholic diocese of the same name. Dirt roads link it to the wider region. Rendered in black and white, those routes become fine threads leading out of town, and the few larger compounds and open grounds stand out from the smaller residential blocks.
A Wamba map poster is a quiet, sparse composition. It has none of the dense grid of a large city. It shows a place defined by its distances: a cluster of streets, a scatter of homesteads, and roads that head into forest for a long way before reaching the next town. It suits anyone with ties to the Uele region who wants that setting in one frame.

Radiating roads
Several unpaved roads leave Wamba towards neighbouring settlements. They appear as long single lines that give the composition direction and show how the town connects to its hinterland.
Scattered compounds
Outside the centre, homesteads and small plots are spread along tracks rather than packed into blocks. This loose, rural texture is typical of towns in Haut-Uele.

为什么选Wamba
一张有意义的地图
People hang this map to keep a connection to a place that rarely shows up on printed maps: a birthplace, a mission posting, a family home, or a stretch of fieldwork. The simple lines work as a reminder without needing a photograph.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with a year or a family name. There are five styles to choose from, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand and Paper suit the warm, open feel of the region particularly well.
