Wilmslow Map Poster & Print
Wilmslow lies in north-east Cheshire, a short distance south of Manchester. The River Bollin winds through the town in a green, tree-lined corridor, and on a map that valley forms a soft band of open space between the town centre and the residential roads that climb away on either side.
To the west lies Lindow Moss, an area of peat bog best known for the discovery of Lindow Man in 1984, a remarkably preserved Iron Age body now held by the British Museum. The name has made this quiet corner of Cheshire familiar to archaeologists and museum visitors far beyond the region.
A Wilmslow map poster brings together the curving line of the Bollin, the railway cutting through the town, and the cul-de-sacs and crescents of its suburbs. The pattern is loose and green rather than dense, with parkland, water and winding streets giving the composition plenty of space to breathe.

West of the centre, the open bog of Lindow Moss appears as a quieter, less built-up area, the place where the Iron Age Lindow Man was found in 1984.
Suburban crescents
Residential streets curve into crescents and closes on either side of the valley, giving the town a softer, more organic street pattern than an industrial grid.
