Yokote River
The river runs through the centre, crossed by a series of bridges and lined by older streets. Together they give the core of the map its structure.

关于地图
Yokote Map Poster & Print
Yokote lies in the southeast of Akita Prefecture, in a wide inland basin ringed by mountains. The Yokote River runs through the city centre. From above, it separates the older streets of the town from the slopes to the east, where a wooded hill holds the site of Yokote Castle and a keep-style tower that serves as a museum and viewpoint.
Beyond the centre, a Yokote map poster shows the typical pattern of the Japanese countryside: compact settlements, roads following old field boundaries, and a patchwork of rice paddies across the basin floor. Rail lines and main roads cross the plain, linking the city with nearby communities. Around the edges, the land rises steadily into forested hills.
Yokote lies in one of the snowiest parts of Japan and is best known for its kamakura festival each February, when snow huts are built and lit from inside. The city also gives its name to Yokote yakisoba, a local noodle dish topped with a fried egg. On paper the city is quieter: a river, a hill and the fields of the plain.

Castle hill
East of the river, a wooded hill with winding paths rises above the streets. It holds the Yokote Castle park and its keep-style tower overlooking the town.
Basin rice fields
Across the wide Yokote Basin, rice paddies and farm roads divide the land into small rectangles that fill the outer edges of the poster.

为什么选Yokote
一张有意义的地图
Yokote appeals to anyone who knows the quiet of a snowbound town, or who visited during the kamakura festival. A map poster brings that setting back in a restrained, graphic way that sits naturally in a Japanese-style interior.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, and choose one of five styles; Paper and Sand suit the soft winter light well. Download the HD files in six sizes for $9, or order a matte print shipped from partners in over 30 countries.
