Madison lies on the Connecticut shoreline between New Haven and Old Saybrook. The map is organised by the coast. Along Long Island Sound, small coves, rocky points and beaches break up the southern edge. Inland, the Boston Post Road runs east to west through the village centre, and wooded residential roads spread north toward the interstate and the hills.
