Kaarta
Malita sits on the western shore of the Davao Gulf in southern Mindanao and serves as the capital of Davao Occidental province. On a map, the town follows the coast: a strip of streets and settlement along the shoreline, with the national road running parallel to the water. Behind it, the land climbs into hills, and roads thin into narrow tracks that head inland.
The shape is typical of many towns along this coast, where flat land is limited and life concentrates between the sea and the slopes. Fishing and farming have long shaped the area, and as a provincial capital, Malita also holds the government offices that serve the wider province. Its layout is modest and practical, drawn by terrain more than planning.
A Malita map poster makes the coastline the main line of the composition. The water takes up a broad, calm area of the frame, the town traces the shore, and the hills fill the rest with sparse, winding roads. It is a map of a place defined by its edge, where the gulf and the land meet in one long, quiet curve.
The coast of the Davao Gulf forms the strongest line on the map, with the town arranged along it and the open water filling a large part of the frame.
The main road runs parallel to the shore, connecting Malita with neighbouring towns and acting as the spine along which most of the settlement is built.
Behind the narrow coastal strip, the ground rises and roads become sparse and winding, giving the map a clear contrast between shore and highland.
