Kaarta
Maun spreads across flat, sandy ground in north-western Botswana, along the banks of the Thamalakane River. The map is spacious rather than dense. Loose clusters of streets and compounds sit apart from each other, main roads run out toward the surrounding districts, and the river curves along the town's edge. The airport runway is one of the few truly straight lines in the picture.
The town is known as the main gateway to the Okavango Delta. Many safaris and light aircraft flights into the delta begin here. Maun also has a long history as a regional centre for the Batawana people. That mix of administrative town, trading post and tourism base shows on the map as a centre with scattered settlement on every side.
A Maun map poster brings out the relationship between the town and its water. The river line and the open ground around the settlement give the design plenty of breathing room. It suits a minimalist print well, where empty space matters as much as streets. The result feels light and open, much like the landscape of the delta's edge.
The river winds along the town, drawing a soft, organic curve that contrasts with the scattered road network.
A long straight runway stands out clearly on the map, a reminder of the flights that carry visitors into the delta.
Clusters of streets separated by open sandy ground give Maun a loose, airy pattern unlike denser towns.

Macah Maun
Maun is often the first and last stop of an Okavango journey, so the map works as a souvenir of a safari or of time spent working in the delta. It also has meaning for the families who call the town home.
Personalise the title and subtitle with your travel dates or lodge name, and keep the coordinates as a quiet marker. Choose between Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand reflects the Kalahari soils especially well.
