The town centre follows the valley floor, with the river, road and railway running close together, while side valleys hold the villages that make up the wider municipality.
Olsberg is a recognised Kneipp spa town, and its setting of forests and walking routes has long attracted visitors. Within its boundaries, near Bruchhausen, stand the Bruchhauser Steine, a group of large rock formations on the slopes of the Istenberg that are among the most distinctive natural landmarks of the Sauerland.
