Poço Fundo is a municipality in the south of Minas Gerais, Brazil, in hilly country where coffee is one of the main crops. From above, the town is a compact urban area surrounded by a fine patchwork of farms, plantations and patches of woodland. Rural roads wind along ridges and stream valleys toward the neighbouring towns of the region.
The town centre follows the terrain rather than a grid. Streets run along the lower ground and bend up the slopes, and the blocks vary in shape and size.
