Kaarta
Púchov lies in north-western Slovakia, in the Trenčín Region, where the Váh river valley runs between the White Carpathians and the Javorníky hills. On a map, the town stretches along the valley floor, with the Váh, the railway and major roads running in parallel lines, and residential districts rising onto the surrounding slopes.
The town is best known for industry, particularly the tyre factory that has long been a major employer, and historically for textiles. Its name has also given rise to the term 'Púchov culture', used for an Iron Age archaeological culture first identified at a nearby hillfort. The historic centre is small, with a square and church near the river.
A Púchov map poster captures the shape of a valley town: water, transport corridors and streets aligned together, framed by hills. Industrial areas add large, rectangular plots to the composition, while the residential areas are finer and more varied. It is a clean, structured map with a strong sense of direction.
The river runs through the valley alongside the town, drawing a broad line that anchors the composition and sets the direction for the whole map.
Railway and main roads follow the valley in parallel, forming a tightly bundled set of lines that link Púchov with Žilina and Trenčín.
Large factory plots, including the tyre works, appear as broad, geometric shapes that contrast with the smaller blocks of the residential streets.
