Rasrā Map Poster
Rasrā is a town in Ballia district, in the far east of Uttar Pradesh, on the level alluvial country between the Ganges and the Ghaghara. From above it looks like a dense knot of short, irregular lanes. Roads from the surrounding villages lead into it, and a railway line runs past the town, giving the map one firm straight stroke among the softer curves.
Around the built-up core, the map opens into a patchwork of field boundaries, small ponds and village clusters that thin out toward the horizon. This is a river-shaped landscape, even where no river is drawn. Old channels, low embankments and the gentle drainage of the plain show up as faint lines.
