Saint-Pierre-des-Corps sits directly east of Tours in the Centre-Val de Loire, on the low, narrow land between two rivers: the Loire to the north and the Cher to the south. The map shows this clearly, with two broad bands of water framing a flat strip of streets, rail yards and housing. Levees along the rivers mark how much the town depends on flood protection.
The railway defines the place. Saint-Pierre-des-Corps has the main high-speed station for the Tours area, and many trains stop here instead of running into the city's terminus.
