Taifa is a suburb on the northern side of Greater Accra, part of the belt of neighbourhoods that has grown quickly as the capital expands. From above, it forms a dense mesh of residential streets, some laid out in regular blocks and others following earlier paths and plots.
Like many of Accra's newer suburbs, Taifa is mainly residential, with homes, churches, schools and small businesses mixed along its roads. Main roads connect it with neighbouring areas and with routes into central Accra, and on the map they stand out as the wider lines through the finer street pattern.
