Taşköprü is a district town in Kastamonu province in northern Turkey, set in the valley of the Gökırmak River. Its name means stone bridge, after the historic bridge that crosses the river in the town. On the map, the Gökırmak flows through the town and divides it into banks linked by crossings.
The streets spread along both sides of the river and up the gentle slopes of the valley. Farmland takes up the flat ground nearby, and forested hills rise to the north toward the Black Sea ranges. Roads follow the valley east and west, with smaller lanes leading to villages across the uplands.
