Tekāri Map Poster
Tekāri lies in the Gaya district of Bihar, on the flat, fertile plain that stretches south of the Ganges. The land around it is intensively farmed, and the map shows a compact town surrounded by a fine mesh of fields and village tracks, with small rivers and irrigation channels running across the countryside.
The town was the seat of the Tekāri Raj, one of the larger zamindari estates of the region, and the remains of its fort are part of the town's identity. Today it functions as a local centre for the surrounding villages, with markets and schools drawing people in from the countryside.
