Kaarta
Thốt Nốt is a district of Cần Thơ in the Mekong Delta, lying along the Hậu River, the southern branch of the Mekong. On a map, water shapes everything: the broad river to the east, and a dense network of canals running inland at right angles to it, dividing the land into long strips of rice fields, orchards and settlements.
The name refers to the sugar palm, a tree more common in Cambodia and along the delta's border regions. Houses and roads follow the canal banks, so settlement appears as thin lines rather than blocks, with a denser town centre near the river. The district is also known for Bằng Lăng, a stork sanctuary where large colonies of waterbirds roost.
A Thốt Nốt map poster shows one of the most distinctive landscapes in Southeast Asia: a pattern of parallel waterways and linear villages set against a wide river. In black and white the canals read like fine engraved lines, and the result has a striking, almost abstract quality while remaining a faithful picture of the place.
The wide southern branch of the Mekong runs along the district's eastern side, with islands and riverbanks forming soft, broad shapes on the map.
Straight canals extend inland from the river, dividing the land into long parallel strips and setting the direction of almost every road and house.
Homes line the waterways in narrow ribbons rather than clustered blocks, creating a pattern of fine lines typical of the Mekong Delta countryside.

Macah Thốt Nốt
For families from the delta, the canals of Thốt Nốt are a strong part of memory and identity. A map poster of the river and waterways makes an understated, lasting reminder of home, especially for those living far from Vietnam.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be written with full Vietnamese diacritics or however you prefer. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, as digital files or a printed poster.
