Changle sits in central Shandong, a county-level city administered by Weifang. From above, it reads as a tidy urban core set into an almost unbroken pattern of fields, with roads running in long, deliberate lines toward neighbouring towns. The flat ground of the plain lets the street network spread evenly, so the town's outline comes from planning rather than from any river or ridge.
