Pederneiras lies in the interior of São Paulo state, not far from Bauru, in rolling agricultural country. The Tietê River passes close by. Along this stretch it is part of the Tietê–Paraná waterway, which carries freight between the interior states, and Pederneiras is one of the places where river, road and rail meet.
