Thetford-Mines Map Poster & Print
Thetford Mines lies in the Chaudière-Appalaches region of Quebec, in rolling hill country south of Quebec City. For over a century the town was one of the world's major centres of asbestos mining, and the landscape still carries the imprint of that industry in its large open pits and pale tailings mounds.
On a map these features dominate. Streets and neighbourhoods curve around the edges of the pits, and roads bend to avoid the steep, altered ground. The result is a town shaped as much by excavation as by planning, a layout unlike almost any other in Canada.
A Thetford Mines map poster turns this unusual history into a bold graphic image. The rounded voids of the pits contrast with the tight clusters of residential streets, while lakes and forest fill the land beyond. It is a composition with strong shapes and a clear story, well suited to the crisp contrast of the Noir style.

Tailings mounds
Hills of mining waste rise around the town, reshaping the terrain and forcing roads and neighbourhoods to curve around their edges.
Appalachian setting
Beyond the mining areas, the town sits in rolling Appalachian hills with forest and lakes, giving the map a softer, natural outer frame.
