Farm-shaped streets
Roads and lanes follow the edges of fields and plots, so the street pattern is irregular and closely tied to the land around it.

Mapa
Al Qarārah Map Poster & Print
Al Qarārah is a town in the Khan Yunis Governorate in the southern Gaza Strip, north-east of the city of Khan Yunis. It lies inland from the Mediterranean coast. From above, the streets form an irregular pattern with no single grid, and the town has historically been surrounded by agricultural land and greenhouses.
The strip itself is narrow, and even inland towns sit only a few kilometres from the sea. Al Qarārah's layout reflects the farming that shaped it, with roads and paths following plot boundaries rather than a planned plan.
An Al Qarārah map poster records the town's street network as it appears in open map data. For many people, a map like this is a way to keep a precise record of home, the lanes and the paths to the fields.
