Little Diomede nearby
The American island lies just across a narrow channel, close enough for the poster to show both. The pairing makes the composition feel like a conversation.

Mapa
Big Diomede Map Poster & Print
Big Diomede, known in Russia as Ratmanov Island, lies in the middle of the Bering Strait between Chukotka and Alaska. Only a few kilometres of water separate it from Little Diomede, which belongs to the United States. The border between the two countries and the International Date Line both pass through that narrow gap. That is why the islands are sometimes called Tomorrow and Yesterday.
From above, Big Diomede is a compact block with steep sides and a broad, level top. It has few features beyond its cliffs and the short slopes down to the sea. Today it holds a Russian border post rather than a village. On a map the interest lies in the pairing: two islands close enough to share a frame, divided by an invisible line.
The strait here is one of the narrowest points between Asia and North America, and the Diomedes sit near its centre. A Big Diomede map poster shows that meeting point in quiet detail. A small island on the edge of one continent looks across at the edge of another, with open water running north toward the Chukchi Sea.

Date line gap
The International Date Line and the Russia–United States border both pass between the islands. The channel in the middle marks the difference of a full calendar day.
Level summit
The island rises steeply from the water to a broad, fairly flat top. That gives it a firm, squared-off silhouette rather than a pointed one.

Zašto Big Diomede
Mapa koja nešto znači
This map appeals to people interested in borders, geography and the places where continents almost touch. It is a conversation piece: a small island whose main fact, the date changing a few kilometres away, is easy to explain and hard to forget.
Set the title and subtitle to suit, for example by naming both Diomedes, and add a date or coordinates line. Pick one of five styles. Blueprint and Noir bring out the strait, while Classic black & white keeps the two coastlines crisp and precise.
