Businga is a town in Nord-Ubangi Province in the north of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, on the Mongala River. From above, the river is the main feature: a wide, winding band of water with a town arranged along one bank. The streets are few and simple, and roads and paths spread out from them into the surrounding forest and farmland.
In this part of the Congo basin, rivers have long been the main routes for moving people and goods, and towns like Businga grew where road and water meet. The map reflects that. A handful of roads run out toward other towns, and between them the land is mostly open, with small tracks, clearings and the soft outlines of the river's banks.
