Chesterfield Valley
The flat floodplain has wide, straight roads and large building footprints. It looks very different from the winding streets on the hills above.

Mapa
Chesterfield Map Poster & Print
Chesterfield lies in the western part of St. Louis County, where upland suburbs look down on the Missouri River floodplain. It splits into two distinct areas. On the hills, curving residential streets and cul-de-sacs wind between wooded ridges. Below, the Chesterfield Valley stretches flat towards the river, with long, straight roads and large commercial buildings.
Interstate 64 crosses the Missouri here, linking Chesterfield to St. Charles County, and major roads connect the city to central St. Louis in the east. The valley was badly flooded during the 1993 Missouri River flood. Afterwards, it was rebuilt with stronger levees and has since become a major shopping and business district.
The Chesterfield map poster shows a clear contrast. Looping suburban streets fill the higher ground, the valley below has a sparser, more geometric pattern, and the broad curve of the Missouri runs along the northern edge. This gives the print an obvious top and bottom and a satisfying balance between detail and open space.

Missouri River
The river runs along the city's northern edge, and the I-64 bridge crosses it. It forms a strong natural boundary at the top of the poster.
Upland cul-de-sacs
On the ridges, residential streets curve and branch into cul-de-sacs. They create delicate, organic patterns that are typical of American suburbs.
