Concón sits on the Pacific coast of central Chile, just north of Viña del Mar, where the Aconcagua River reaches the sea. On a map, the town stretches along a curving coastline of rocky points and small beaches, with neighbourhoods climbing up the slopes behind them and streets bending to follow the terrain.
The town is known for the Dunas de Concón, a protected field of sand dunes overlooking the ocean, and for its coastal road lined with seafood restaurants. Newer residential areas spread onto the higher ground, while the older part of town lies closer to the river mouth and the port area.
