Historic core
The old centre appears as the densest patch on the print, a tight cluster of streets and blocks that stands out clearly against the more open districts around it.

Correggio Map Poster & Print
Correggio lies in the province of Reggio Emilia, on the level farmland that stretches north towards the Po. From above, the town has a clear centre of gravity: a dense historic core where buildings stand close together along narrow streets, surrounded by later neighbourhoods laid out more loosely, and then by the long, straight roads and rectangular fields typical of this part of the plain.
The town gave its name to one of the great painters of the Italian Renaissance. Antonio Allegri, born here in the late fifteenth century, is known to the world simply as Correggio, and his work hangs in major museums across Europe. For several centuries the town was also the seat of its own small lordship, whose former palace still stands in the centre.
A Correggio map poster translates that layered past into line work. The older streets form a close, irregular knot, the newer quarters a looser weave, and the countryside a calm pattern of lanes and field boundaries. It is the kind of map that rewards a slow look, much like the town itself, where the pace is set by the plain around it.

Straight plain roads
Beyond the town, country roads run long and straight across the flat land, dividing the fields into regular shapes that give the edges of the poster an even rhythm.
Painter's hometown
Antonio Allegri took the town's name as his own, so a map of Correggio also marks the birthplace of a Renaissance master known worldwide by that single word.
