The lagoon
A wide, deep lagoon fills the inside of the V and opens to the ocean in the north through channels between small islets. On the poster it is the large, calm shape the whole atoll bends around.

Diego Garcia Map Poster & Print
Diego Garcia is the largest island of the Chagos Archipelago, in the middle of the Indian Ocean, far to the south of India. It is a coral atoll, but not a full ring. A thin strip of land curves around a large lagoon in a long, lopsided V that opens to the sea at the northern end. In most places the land is only a few hundred metres wide.
The atoll is home to a joint British and American military base, and the map reflects that. A long runway runs along the western arm, and roads, harbour facilities and buildings cluster toward the north of that side. The rest of the rim is covered in vegetation. Access is restricted, and there is no ordinary tourism.
Between the late 1960s and early 1970s, the islanders of the Chagos, known as Chagossians, were removed to make way for the base, a history that remains contested. In 2025 the United Kingdom signed an agreement to hand sovereignty of the archipelago to Mauritius while keeping the base under a long lease. A Diego Garcia map poster records the atoll's quiet, unusual geometry.

Western arm runway
A long runway lies along the western side of the atoll. It is one of the few truly straight lines on a map otherwise made of curves.
Northern islets
Small islets sit across the mouth of the lagoon, separating it from the open sea. They give the top of the map a broken, dotted edge.

Mapa koja nešto znači
This map is for people with a direct connection to the atoll: service members and contractors who were stationed there, and Chagossian families whose heritage is tied to the islands. Its elegant, almost calligraphic outline also appeals to people who simply collect remote places.
Add a title, a subtitle with a unit or years of service, and your own coordinates line. Choose from five styles, including Classic black & white and Blueprint. The HD files cost $9 with no watermark, and printed posters with optional wooden frames ship from partners in 30+ countries.
